THE UK NINE - FIVE CLUB
( 9.5mm )
The 9.5mm movie film gauge, introduced
in 1922 in France by Pathé-Baby, part of the then giant
Pathé-Frères group,
arrived in the UK the following year and was effectively the
first home movie film size.
A few pages for our UK 9.5mm film club - 'GROUP 9.5' - makes it
easier to update this than many individual web-pages!

I have now included details of our three-weekly
Pimlico meetings - held at St. Gabriels Hall, Lupus Street,
Pimlico, not far
from the Pimlico Tube Station and about a ten minute walk from
Victoria Rail & Coach Stations. (see the map below)
Also included are reports for many of our Annual Show & Get-Togethers
Our UK Group 9.5 Club was formed, way back in 1962 by the late Larry Pearce and the late Paul Van Someren with a view to provide a future for the Pathé 9.5mm home movie film gauge once commercial backing dissapeared. Publication of a magazine began and regular meetings were held. Weekly meetings began in August 1962 at Alperton, North London, run by the late Larry Pearce who lived nearby. Soon the meetings included an Annual Get-Together which later featured a 9.5mm amateur film competition. A number of local sections sprang up and the London Section still exists, meeting about every three weeks.
